Marshall Day Acoustics Ltd was formed in
1981 by Christopher Day and Harold Marshall. The firm has specialised in
acoustical consulting advice for environmental impact assessments, industrial
projects and building projects. Steady growth through the training of graduates
and importation of specialist expertise, has seen the firm expand with offices
in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, New Plymouth, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide,
China and Ireland over a period of more than 25 years and has become a leading
acoustic consultancy with major projects in Australia, New Zealand, South-East
Asia, China and the Middle East.
Marshall Day Acoustics has over 50 acoustic consultants in nine offices, with
the New Zealand offices having more than 25 professional engineers and
scientists. In the event of a sudden increase in workload, we call on our other
offices to provide assistance.
Since 1981 the group has worked on over 4000 projects in New Zealand, Australia,
Malaysia, Singapore, USA, Hong Kong, China and several Pacific Island countries.

Day Acoustics use SoundPLAN on a daily basis, therefore we have a wealth of user
knowledge to draw upon to assist in solving user-related issues.
We offer on-going telephone and e-mail support and in-house training for
SoundPLAN users – at our office or yours.
4 IN-HOUSE SOFTWARE
Marshall Day Acoustics has developed a
number of high quality acoustical design tools that are in use by acoustics
professionals on every continent.
INSUL is a program for predicting the sound insulation of walls, floors,
ceilings and windows. The program can estimate the Transmission Loss (TL) in 1/3
octave bands and Weighted Sound Reduction Index (STC or Rw) for use in sound
transfer calculations.
