Railway Noise Calculations

This SoundPLAN Noise module calculates simulations of railway noise. Data entry and calculations are made according to the requirements of the specific standard. Choose in the SoundPLAN Manager which standard you want to use.

All railway models are split into an emissions model and a propagation model. Some models use the sound power as the interface between the source and the propagation models, while others use the sound pressure in a reference distance.

Emission levels can be set and changed at any coordinate along the rail line. All parameters are variable at any coordinate. In the following example, the emission noise level was opened for one coordinate. The box on the left shows the general parameters. Clicking on the calculator icon opens the emission calculation where the types and numbers of trains are entered along with additional parameters. The base parameters for the emission calculation are declared in the train setup.

Along with the calculation of single receivers, the Railway Noise module also delivers feed data for the Documentation, Wall Design, Window Dimensioning and the Graphics. To learn more about each of these, please click on the appropriate pages to the left.
