Cross Sectional Noise Map

The Cross Sectional Noise Map is like a Grid Noise Map with the grid cells standing vertically on top of a "cutting" line. The vertical noise map can be presented in the projection or included in the 3D solid modeling.

The only parameters required besides the geometric location of the cross section, are the grid spacing and the height which the map should be calculated.

Following is a projection graphic with the cross sectional noise map on top and the difference map on the bottom. The cutting geometry was defined in the screenshot of the Geo-Database, where the cutting line is defined. Normal noise maps and difference maps use two different scales located outside the normal drawing in the descriptive box. Having multiple maps and multiple descriptive boxes is a feature of the Cartography module.

If the vertical noise map from the preceding picture were opened and the view switched to the solid 3D model, the following map would appear.
